Psychopath Kills Three, Injures Others in Taounate Attack; Separate Decapitation in Essaouira

The first tragedy occurred in the commune of Ain Beida, near Taounate, reports Al Akhbar. Weapon in hand, a psychopath was terrorizing the city. He struck an old woman who died on the spot. Two other children were in his sights. They met the same fate. Seriously injured, three other people including a child were rushed to the hospitals of Fez and Taounate. Alerted, the gendarmerie elements went to the scene of the tragedies and arrested the killer. Placed in custody, he will be brought before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Fez on Monday.

The second tragedy occurred in the city of Essaouira. An individual inflicted 14 machete blows on his sexagenarian sister before decapitating her. Once the crime was committed, he returned home. On their arrival, the gendarmes arrested him without incident. The origin of this drama is a family affair on the basis of revenge. According to the explanations of the alleged murderer, he had repeatedly asked his sister to allow him to exploit an argan field belonging to the family, but he had always faced her categorical refusal. This family affair is moreover pending before the justice system. Impatient, the defendant had repeatedly threatened his sister before killing her.
