Moroccan Man Fatally Stabbed Over $100 Debt Dispute

A dispute over a debt turns into a tragedy. The alleged murderer, a thirty-year-old from the neighboring commune of Ouled Daoud, owed 1,000 DH to the victim. The latter was demanding repayment of his debt. Each time, a dispute between the two friends degenerated into a fight. Their final dispute took place in the weekly market of the commune of Ain Aicha. The two men start insulting each other. A fight becomes inevitable. The intervention of witnesses to separate them was in vain. The defendant pulls a knife out of his pocket and deals a fatal blow to his "friend". The latter dies on the spot.

Alerted, the elements of the judicial service of the gendarmerie of Taounate arrived at the crime scene. The alleged murderer was arrested and taken to the gendarmerie headquarters. The victim’s body was transported to the Ghassani hospital in Fez for an autopsy.
