Prominent Moroccan Surgeon Arrested for Human Trafficking After Donor Uncovers Fraud

The case of the famous Casablanca cosmetic surgeon Hassan Tazi, in pre-trial detention for human trafficking and abuse of weakness, is gradually revealing its secrets. It was revealed thanks to a benefactor.
It was the curiosity of a patron about the sums of money received by Hassan Tazi’s clinic to cover the hospitalization costs of underprivileged patients that sparked the case, reports Al Akhbar, adding that the latter filed a complaint with the justice system, detailing the maneuvers and falsifications that were taking place in the patients’ files.
Informed, the national brigade of the judicial police (BNPJ) opened an investigation, which led to the arrest of the famous cosmetic surgeon, his wife, in charge of the clinic’s finances, his brother, the manager, a nurse in charge of accounting and three other employees.
The accused, his wife, his brother and a nurse were placed in pre-trial detention at the Oukacha prison in Casablanca by the public prosecutor’s office, while the others are being prosecuted while at liberty.
