Prominent Moroccan Imam Arrested for Alleged Sexual Exploitation in ’Healing’ Scheme

Accused of having sexually exploited women - some of whom are married - to whom he promised healing, a famous imam practicing roqya chariya was arrested in Tlat Loulad, then placed in pre-trial detention.
It all started with a simple coincidence. While searching his wife’s phone, a man comes across intimate messages with sexual connotations sent by the imam. He files a complaint against him with the royal gendarmerie and deposits his wife’s phone as evidence, reports the daily Assabah. The authorities summon the sheikh. During his interrogation, the investigators discover his sexual practices against seven women, including two married ones. They were also heard by the elements of the royal gendarmerie.
On Wednesday, the king’s prosecutor near the court of first instance of Khouribga decided to place the accused in pre-trial detention. Prosecuted under arrest, he will soon have to answer for the crimes he is said to have committed against the women who consulted him for witchcraft sessions he performs at his home next to the mosque.
