Moroccan ’Rich Kid’ Sentenced to 2 Years for Crashing into Wedding Procession While High

A few weeks after his arrest in Safi, the son of the owner of a private clinic who had rammed the procession of a wedding in early February in Essaouira before fleeing, was sentenced to two years in prison in the first instance.
The court of first instance sentenced a "ould lefchouch" (spoiled child) who had violently hit the car transporting the procession of a wedding in Essaouira last February to two years in prison, reports the Arabic-language daily Al Akhbar. He was prosecuted for possession and sale of drugs, insulting a public official, speeding under the influence of drugs.
After five months on the run, the young man was arrested in early July by elements of the National Security of Marrakech in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie. His appearance in several videos in which he mocked the authorities who had not yet been able to arrest him facilitated the task of the elements of the Brigade for the Fight against Criminal Gangs of the Judicial Police of Marrakech and the Royal Gendarmerie.
