Popular Moroccan-Origin Rapper Morad Arrested in Barcelona for Alleged Arson

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested rapper Morad on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the arson of two cars and two containers in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). The court ordered his provisional release.
In addition to this accusation, the Moroccan-origin rapper and two other people are accused of having insulted a patrol of the Catalan police in the same city last April, reports El Confidencial.
Morad is one of the most popular musicians of the moment among young people. His songs accumulate millions of views on music platforms. In an interview with La Sexta, the rapper said he earns about one million euros a year from downloads of his songs on Spotify or YouTube and concerts.
This summer, one of his concerts was suspended in Torre del Mar (Malaga) due to public order disturbances. The spectators, who arrived in excess for this concert, engaged in acts of vandalism, causing significant material damage.
