Moroccan-Spanish Rapper Morad Faces Legal Troubles Amid Rising Fame

Since the release of his first single, "MDLR" in 2019, which was a great success, Morad has won the hearts of his fans in Spain and around the world. The Moroccan-origin rapper inspires thousands of young people who see him as a model of success, despite his repeated legal troubles.
Beyond the acronym, MDLR, meaning "Street Guy", has become a way of life for many vulnerable young people. In the titles "Normal", "Motorola", "Pelele", "Soñar" or "Session 47" with Bizarrap, Morad talks about the difficulties he has encountered and his life in La Florida, a disadvantaged neighborhood of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat in Barcelona.
The Moroccan-origin rapper, received on Jordi Évole’s show, recalled his journey from street guy to rap star. A story punctuated with successes, but also setbacks, comments 20minutos. Morad is well known to the justice and police services for having been acquitted twice for theft and arrested for disturbing public order while filming one of his music videos.
The rap star faces 6 years in prison for contempt of authority and illegal possession of a weapon, it was confirmed in May. These legal problems, added to the conviction of his ex-partner for stabbing his new partner, are beginning to tarnish Morad’s musically successful career.
