Spanish Rapper Morad Sparks Controversy with Pro-Moroccan Sahara Stance
Morad is facing strong criticism since the publication of a recent video on TikTok in which he expressed his support for King Mohammed VI on the Sahara issue.
In this video that went viral, the rapper of Moroccan origin shouted "Long live the king. The Sahara is Moroccan," thus expressing his support for Mohammed VI on this sensitive issue. This position of the rapper Morad on this eminently political issue has provoked an avalanche of reactions from Internet users in Spain. Some no longer recognize the artist committed against social and institutional racism that he is.
The rapper from Hospitalet de Llobregat posted this video after a concert during which he raised a flag of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) thrown by a spectator. Referring to this incident in the video, Morad said he thought it was a Palestinian flag and that he has always supported Morocco on this issue.
