Spanish-Moroccan Rapper Morad Declares Support for Morocco’s Claim to Western Sahara

The Spanish rapper of Moroccan origin Morad, one of the most listened to artists in Spain, expressed his support for King Mohammed VI on the Sahara issue in a video on TikTok.
Highly appreciated by many young people of Moroccan origin who see him as a model of success, Morad recently expressed in a TikTok video his unconditional support for King Mohammed VI on the Sahara issue.
The Moroccan-origin rapper posted this video after a concert during which a spectator had thrown a flag of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). Addressing the incident, Morad said he thought it was a Palestinian flag.
In an interview given to Jordi Évole last February, the artist spoke about his beginnings in music and his career. He denounced hate speech and racism towards unaccompanied foreign minors, earning the admiration of several young people on social media.
But this time, Morad’s position on the Sahara, in favor of Morocco, has sparked a major controversy, as Spain is very cautious on the issue. This is not the first time the singer has spoken out on this sensitive issue.
