Police Shoot Sword-Wielding Man After Rampage in Moroccan City of Larache

The police had to use their service weapon to neutralize an individual who was endangering the lives of citizens and agents with a sword. The events took place yesterday, Friday, July 5, 2019, in Larache.
On Friday, a man who was threatening passers-by with his bladed weapon and had just caused significant damage to two cars was arrested by the police, according to a press release published by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
"The security services had received a call on the emergency phone line, 19, alerting that the suspect, who was intercepting passers-by and threatening them, had not only endangered the safety of people in a cafe in Hay Al Manar in Larache, but also caused material damage to two parked vehicles," the DGSN specified.
And to add that he had previously "deliberately attacked, with a sword", before the two peacekeepers fired two bullets in his direction, one of which hit him in the leg.
For the DGSN, this intervention "made it possible to eliminate the danger and seize the bladed weapon used in this assault, while the defendant was placed under medical supervision in the hospital". He will be brought to justice as soon as he is discharged.
