Police Fire Warning Shots to Subdue Armed, Intoxicated Suspect in Sidi Bennour

New heavy-handed intervention by the national police, whose agents had to use their service weapon to neutralize criminals posing a danger to them and citizens. It was last night in Sidi Bennour.
The facts are reported by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release published this Friday. Thus, five warning shots were fired in an attempt to apprehend an individual in an advanced state of drunkenness. The latter "seriously endangered the lives of citizens and police officers with a bladed weapon".
Previously, the police had been called following an altercation between two individuals, specifies the same source, according to which once the police on the scene, "one of them violently resisted with a large knife, which forced a police inspector and his colleague sergeant to fire five warning shots that allowed to neutralize the danger, seize the bladed weapon and arrest the accused".
The individual was then taken to the hospital to "treat his injuries" before being taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation. Once at the police station, the police discovered that he was the subject of a national arrest warrant issued by "the security services of Youssoufia for drug and psychotropic trafficking".
Still according to the DGSN, the other individual was also taken into custody and both men must be brought before the courts once the investigation is completed.
