Police Shoot Armed Suspect Threatening Citizens in Sidi Kacem, Morocco

In Sidi Kacem, a police inspector had to use his weapon to subdue an individual with a criminal record. He was threatening the lives of citizens and police elements with two bladed weapons.
The police received a distress call via the emergency number "19" informing them of a suspect who was threatening citizens and causing panic on the public highway, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Immediately, a police patrol was deployed to the scene. Unexpectedly, the aggressor put up strong resistance during his arrest. This situation forced a police officer to fire live ammunition using his service weapon. Two of them hit the suspect in the lower limbs, the same source specifies.
The police officer’s action was productive: the suspect was neutralized and the two bladed weapons he was using in his attempt to attack the police elements were seized.
For now, he has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of this case, as well as all other criminal acts of which he may be the author.
