Casablanca Police Officer Fires Weapon to Subdue Armed Suspect During Fan Clash

The agents of the Bernoussi Safety District intervened on Monday evening to put an end to a fight. It was taking place with knives, sticks and smoke bombs between two groups of supporters in the city of Casablanca. During this intervention, a man tried to physically assault a policeman with a knife, forcing him to use his service weapon.
The police officer who was forced to brandish his service weapon fired a bullet that hit the suspect in the lower limbs, which allowed him to neutralize and arrest him along with two of his accomplices.
According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect was placed under medical supervision in the hospital where he was transferred to receive the necessary care, while the other arrested suspects were placed in custody for investigation to determine the ins and outs of this case.
