Two Arrested in Laâyoune After Knife Attack on Police Officer During Drunk Vandalism Incident

Young people arrested Thursday morning by the Laâyoune Prefecture Security Services would be involved in a case of public drunkenness and knife attack against a police officer.
Misfortune for this police officer from the Laâyoune Research and Intervention Brigade, who had gone Thursday morning to arrest four drunken individuals who were vandalizing everything on the public highway.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that these individuals fiercely resisted the police officer, injuring him with knives and throwing stones.
Coming to his rescue, other agents were able to arrest two of the four troublemakers and seize the knives used in the assault on the police officer, who was admitted to the hospital.
According to the DGSN, the two suspects arrested were placed in custody, pending the conclusions of the investigation initiated to find out more about this incident and especially to apprehend the two other suspects.
