Police Officer Fires Weapon to Subdue Armed Suspect Threatening Mother in Khémisset

To arrest a young man armed with two knives who was threatening his mother and the police officers, a police sergeant from the Provincial District of Khémisset Security had to fire live ammunition.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), it all started with a distress call via the "19" line, received by the police elements. Indeed, this call came from the mother of the 26-year-old young man, who had gone to attack her at her home in "Dayet Nezha".
Immediately, informs the same source relayed by the MAP, a police patrol mobilized to go to the scene. However, on the ground, the suspect who was armed with two large knives gave the police elements a hard time, resisting his arrest.
It was then that one of the agents was forced to use his service weapon. Of the three shots fired, two hit the young man in the lower limbs, the statement said.
The suspect, who was finally arrested, was admitted to the local hospital. He will later be subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, which will shed light on this case.
