Repeat Offender Arrested in Taourirt After Threatening Police with Knife

While he was brandishing a bladed weapon and posed a serious threat to the police officers, a 23-year-old repeat offender was finally arrested. To subdue him, the head of the national judicial police brigade under the Taourirt security district, was forced to use his service weapon.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect, a repeat offender, was wanted nationwide. Given the great danger he posed, a police patrol intervened to arrest him. However, the young man fiercely resisted, threatening the police officers with a large knife. Worse, he tried to self-mutilate, the statement adds. An attitude that forced the head of the national judicial police brigade to fire a warning shot to neutralize him.
After the arrest of the suspect and one of his accomplices by the police, both were placed in custody, at the disposal of the judicial investigation led under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to elucidate the ins and outs of this case, concludes the same source.
