Fez Police Confront Knife-Wielding Suspect in Tense Standoff

Two peace officers from the Fez Police Headquarters were forced to brandish their service weapons, without using them, during a security intervention to arrest a repeat offender in an advanced state of drunkenness.
The city of Fez was again the scene, on Thursday, of a muscular police intervention, which had to brandish weapons to neutralize the defendant who exposed their lives to serious danger with the help of a large knife.
According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the individual was causing chaos on the public highway under the influence of drugs, in conditions likely to endanger the safety of citizens in the Aouint Et Hajjaj district. The police patrol dispatched to the scene was confronted with fierce opposition from the defendant. The defendant forced the two police officers to brandish their service weapons to neutralize him and seize the knife in his possession, the same source specifies.
For the needs of the investigation, the defendant was placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to elucidate the ins and outs of this case, concluded the same source.
