Police Officer Draws Weapon to Subdue Armed Suspect in Salé, Morocco

A senior police inspector working in the 14th police district of the city of Salé "was forced to brandish his service weapon without using it", during a police intervention, on Sunday, April 26, 2020. He managed to apprehend an individual with a criminal record, who was threatening the safety of people and property with a knife.
A police patrol had intervened to arrest the suspect, who had tried to physically assault a person with a bladed weapon, in the Sidi Moussa neighborhood of Salé, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The police officer’s use of his service weapon allowed him to neutralize the danger and arrest the individual involved, the DGSN said.
Pending the resolution of this case, the suspect was taken into custody.
