Another forceful intervention by the police who had to fire warning shots to neutralize an individual armed with a bladed weapon who was threatening the life of another person.
"A police sergeant serving in the Imzouren-Bni Bouayach district was forced, on Thursday, to use his service weapon by firing a warning shot during a security intervention to come to the aid of a person exposed to imminent danger," explains the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a statement.
Under the influence of psychotropic drugs, "the suspect fiercely resisted with the help of two knives, one to threaten the victim and the other to repel the security intervention, which forced the police officer to fire a warning shot that hit the ground due to the circumstances of the intervention," the police said.
The victim was slightly injured by the suspect while the latter was injured in the pelvis and taken to the Al Hoceima hospital to receive the necessary care, pending his appearance before the judge.
