Police Fire Warning Shot to Subdue Armed Suspect in Fez Arrest Operation

Yesterday morning in Fez, an individual with a criminal record showed fierce resistance and tried to attack the police elements who were operating in an intervention to arrest him, with a bladed weapon. This forced the police to fire a warning shot to neutralize him.
Indeed, they intervened on the instructions of the command and coordination room, recently created in the Fez police prefecture, as part of the strengthening of community policing services and the consolidation of crime prevention interventions.
During the police operation, the suspect tried to resist. The press release talks about "flagrant possession of a bladed weapon in circumstances that could endanger the safety of citizens". Worse, the accomplice of the main suspect also showed fierce resistance with a cleaver, forcing a police officer to fire a warning shot to neutralize the danger and arrest the second suspect.
Thereupon, the two outlaws were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case as well as the motives for the possession of bladed weapons and to verify all the criminal acts attributed to them, the same source specified.
