Police Shoot Armed Robber, Thwart Violent Bag-Snatching Near Kenitra

A tragedy was narrowly averted near Kenitra this Sunday, February 2, 2020, thanks to the intervention of two police inspectors. These officers were forced to use their service weapons to defend a woman, victim of an attempted violent robbery, by two individuals brandishing a saber, thus threatening the safety of citizens and their property.
The intervention, carried out by a patrol of the national security, made it possible to arrest the two suspects after they had tried to relieve a woman of her bag, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
Faced with the police elements, the accused put up fierce resistance with the help of a saber. According to the same source, the two inspectors were forced to fire a warning shot and four bullets that hit one of the suspects in the shoulder and lower limbs.
Thanks to this intervention, the inspectors managed to neutralize the danger represented by the two accused and to arrest the injured person, transferred to the hospital shortly afterwards to receive the necessary care.
The investigation continues in order to arrest the second suspect on the run and to elucidate the circumstances of this case.
