Police Officer Dies in Fatal Fall at Casablanca Soccer Derby

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday, November 2, during the 16th final match of the Mohammed VI Champions Cup, at the Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca.
A riot police officer was killed during the Casablanca derby that pitted Raja against Wydad. According to the Akhbarona website, the police officer suffered a fatal fall from a height of about 7 meters.
He would have apparently lost his balance, according to the first elements of the investigation. Rushed to the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center, the agent unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, following an internal hemorrhage.
Nearly 45,000 spectators attended the match that pitted the two Casablanca clubs for the first leg of the 16th finals of the Mohammed VI Champions Cup. The 140th derby ended in a draw (1-1).
