Police Commissioner Dies in Tragic Accident at Tangier Port

A police commissioner died on Friday, November 20, after his vehicle accidentally fell into the Tanger city basin.
The tragedy occurred while the officer was on patrol in the port infrastructure in his vehicle. Witnesses tried in vain to rescue him.
A tow truck later allowed the vehicle to be pulled out of the basin with the commissioner on board. An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances of this tragedy, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
In addition, an administrative investigation has been opened by the Tanger police prefecture with the officer’s colleagues in order to determine the circumstances of this incident.
