Over 700,000 dirhams stolen: two arrests near Agadir
A series of major thefts, committed using a motor vehicle in the Souss region, has just been solved by the security services. The investigation, which lasted several days, led to the arrest of two suspects in the town of Oulad Teima.
The case mobilized significant technical and human resources after several thefts were reported. In Oulad Teima, a sum of more than 600,000 dirhams was stolen from inside a car. In Biougra, the suspects targeted a woman leaving a bank, stealing 100,000 dirhams from her. A livestock farmer in Belfaa was also a victim, having 15,000 dirhams stolen. Other similar operations took place in Aït Melloul.
An arrest based on video surveillance and intelligence
Faced with this series of offenses, the security services intensified their investigations. The analysis of surveillance cameras made it possible to identify the alleged perpetrators of the thefts.
Based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Agadir proceeded to arrest the two individuals in Oulad Teima.
The two suspects were taken into custody in order to continue the investigations and determine the extent of their criminal activities, before being presented to the justice system under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
