Roof-Raining Cash: Burglars’ Bizarre Escape Attempt Foils Witchcraft Ring

The police services of Ouled Teima, under the province of Taroudant, have succeeded in apprehending the suspects involved in the scene of banknotes thrown from the roof of a house.
The suspects threw banknotes from the roof of a house they had burgled in order to escape the police. The video of the scene showing a crowd of neighbors trying to catch the banknotes in mid-air has gone viral on social media. The authorities of the Wilaya of Agadir and the security forces have mobilized to shed light on this case, reports Al Akhbar.
The investigation revealed that it was a criminal network, composed of two men and a woman aged 19, 22 and 45 years old. According to a source close to the case, the three suspects committed a burglary in a house where black magic practices were taking place. While trying to flee with their loot, they were surrounded by the neighbors and found no other stratagem than to throw part of the stolen money from the roof to divert attention.
Despite this ruse, they were apprehended by the police. The owner of the house is suspected of using the premises to practice witchcraft under the guise of traditional medicine. The stolen money would be the proceeds of these illegal activities. The search carried out allowed the seizure of suspicious products, including unidentified liquids, chemical substances, photographs and utensils, as well as a sum of approximately 600,000 dirhams in local currency and foreign currencies.
The two suspects were taken into custody, on the orders of the competent prosecutor’s office. As for the woman, she was placed under judicial supervision. The investigation is ongoing.
