Over 2,200 Moroccans Win US Green Card Lottery for 2020 Immigration Program

2,202 is the total number of Moroccans who have won their ticket for the 2020 immigration visa lottery program. This year’s edition, launched from October 3 to November 16, 2018, allowed more than 300,000 candidates to try their luck.
The number of lucky Moroccan candidates for the 2020 immigration visa lottery program is known. The US State Department announced, in a report, 2,202 candidates, an increase of 485 winners against 1,171 people in 2018.
Beyond Morocco, the State Department indicated, in its August 2019 report, the list of immigrants who have won the "Green Card" for the next period. They are estimated at 50,000 people per year worldwide. For this edition, 15 million participants registered for the lottery for the year 2020.
Among the countries that obtained the most visas, Egypt is in the lead with 5,568 candidates, followed by Russia with 5,188. Then come the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with 4,743 candidates, Iran with 4,101, Nepal with 3,696 and finally Sudan with 3,691.
The US State Department expects, worldwide this year, 83,884 US visa applications, following the electronic random draw. This number may however decrease if the candidates do not meet the legal requirements. Registration for the program is done electronically and exclusively on the website www.dvlottery.state.gov.
