Outcry as Tangier Accused of Culling Stray Dogs Ahead of Club World Cup

On the eve of the kick-off of the Club World Cup, the local authorities of Tangier would have undertaken to eliminate all stray dogs, even vaccinated ones. The initiative denounced by an animal protection association is causing outrage on social networks.
The alert was given by the Tangier Animal Sanctuary (SFT), an animal protection association. "Due to the FIFA visit, the Wali of Tangier has ordered the killing of all stray dogs and the dog killer contacted me to tell me that all the marked dogs had to be recovered," it is written on social networks.
Concerned about the fate of the canines, the association called for help to prevent their poisoning. "I ask everyone in Tangier who is able to help transport dogs to the property we had to rent because of the Wali, which was once the mini-sanctuary, to please help us. The mini-sanctuary is attached to the sanctuary. Thank you to the Tangier community for helping as three marked dogs have already been killed," SFT warns.
