Ona Hotels Expands Empire: Acquires 6 Be Live Properties in Tenerife and Morocco

Ona Hotels & Apartments has signed a strategic agreement with Be Live Hotels, the hotel chain of Globalia Corporación Empresarial, to operate several new establishments in Morocco.
The agreement includes the acquisition of the Be Live Experience Orotava hotel (4*, 225 rooms - Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife), the Be Live Adults Only Tenerife hotel (4*, 337 rooms - Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife); the Be Smart Florida Plaza apartments (3LL, 132 rooms - Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife), the Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie hotel (4*, 167 rooms - Marrakech, Morocco), the Be Live Collection Marrakech Adults Only hotel (5*, 212 rooms - Marrakech, Morocco) and the Be Live Collection Saïdia hotel (5*, 488 rooms - Saïdia, Morocco).
With this operation, Ona Hotels & Apartments, one of the most dynamic groups in the upper-middle range vacation sector in Spain, is consolidating its position in the Canary Islands where it already has 15 establishments in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, and is marking its entry into Morocco, a booming tourist destination. The kingdom welcomed 17.4 million tourists in 2024, 20% more than the previous year, surpassing Egypt as the main destination in the African continent.
"This transaction is a clear example of our willingness to continue adding strategic assets to our portfolio, both individually and through the incorporation of hotel platforms, a scenario that allows us to grow faster. We continue to seek purchase, lease and management opportunities in the main vacation destinations in Spain," says Nacho Barrau, CEO of Ona Hotels & Apartments.
Javier Blanco, CEO of Be Live Hotels, explains for his part that this agreement is part of Globalia’s strategy to reorganize its commercial structure, focusing on other business sectors and the development of new projects. The six establishments will continue to operate under the Be Live Hotels brand, pending their integration into the Ona Hotels & Apartments group. The operation allows the hotel group to add 1,561 rooms to its operating capacity.
