Morocco: A hotel giant announces the opening of seven new hotels
The Marriott hotel group is strengthening its presence in Morocco with the arrival of five new brands and the announced opening of seven new establishments by 2027.
Four Points by Sheraton, Moxy Hotels, Residence Inn by Marriott, Autograph Collection Hotels and AC Hotels by Marriott. These are the five new Marriott brands that will open their doors in Morocco by 2027. The group also plans to open seven new establishments, totaling more than 800 rooms, and to renovate several existing hotels in the kingdom. Currently, Marriott operates ten establishments in Morocco, spread across six brands and five cities, including Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Fez and Tamuda Bay, totaling more than 1,700 rooms, reports Médias24.
This expansion of the group reflects its desire to diversify its offer to better meet market demand and support the growth of the Moroccan tourism sector, said Ronny Maier, regional vice president for Southern Europe and North-West Africa at Marriott. "Morocco remains a key market for the growth of Marriott International in the region," he said.
In addition, several establishments will expand the group’s portfolio in Morocco by the end of 2026. The Villa Sahrai Casablanca, a member of Design Hotels, will open by the end of the year. It will offer 56 rooms, two restaurants, a CinqMondes spa and a rooftop. The Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, scheduled to open in early 2026, will have 250 rooms and direct access to the beach. The Méridien Casablanca, which recently opened, has 145 rooms and suites, as well as several restaurants.
Marriott also plans to modernize several existing establishments. The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam, will undergo a transformation in 2026 to accommodate a new space called The Retreat, comprising 24 villas with private pools and personalized services. The Méridien N’Fis in Marrakech is currently undergoing a complete renovation of its rooms and dining areas. At the Marriott Fès Jnan Palace, the Pachamama restaurant and the Croon Lounge have recently been inaugurated.
