Rabat’s Hotel Boom: World Cup Fever Grips Morocco’s Capital

Finding a room in the classified hotels of the capital has become a real challenge, particularly in the four and five-star establishments that are fully booked. This situation is explained by the organization of the final phase of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, currently underway, and the approach of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which will begin in December.

The presence of numerous sports delegations, officials and supporters is saturating the city’s hotel capacity. The ten five-star hotels are full, and the lower categories are also experiencing strong enthusiasm, reinforced by the presence of several North African and African teams whose group matches will be played in Rabat.

This dynamic is accompanied by the completion of major infrastructure projects. The Moulay Abdellah sports complex has already been inaugurated. In November, two other venues, the Moulay El Hassan and Al Barid stadiums, will open in turn, adding to the already operational Olympic stadium.
