The Franco-Qatari group Kasada is preparing major hotel projects in Morocco before 2030

The Franco-Qatari group Kasada, specialized in real estate private equity dedicated to the hotel sector in sub-Saharan Africa, is conquering the Moroccan market. It plans to carry out several hotel projects in Morocco before the 2030 World Cup.

Kasada Capital Management, an investment company owned by the Qatar Investment Fund and the French hotel group AccorHotels, is interested in Morocco and intends to invest there. "Morocco represents a key strategic market for us, thanks to its political and economic stability and its position as the leading tourist destination in Africa, after having welcomed more than 17 million visitors last year," said Olivier Granet, CEO of Kasada, in an interview with Asharq. According to him, the group plans to launch its first "significant and ambitious" investments in Morocco in 2026 through its investment fund. It intends to carry out operations targeting the acquisition and renovation of existing hotels, as well as the construction of new projects in the main tourist cities, such as Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier. Destinations that should host matches of the 2030 World Cup.

Already, "several projects are currently under negotiation with partners from various sectors in Morocco, including Accor group brands and others," Granet said. In Africa, the development cycle of a hotel project usually takes 6 to 7 years. But Kasada intends to reduce this time frame in Morocco, thanks to close coordination with the authorities and local partners, in order to ensure that the new facilities are ready in time for major tourism and sporting events, he adds. The Franco-Qatari group also announces the allocation of an investment fund dedicated to Morocco, a first step that could, in the long run, pave the way for similar projects in other African markets in the future.
