Olympic Champion El Bakkali Targets Diamond League Victory in Paris 3,000m Steeplechase
Invigorated by his triumph at the Tokyo Olympics, Soufiane El Bakkali has decided to confirm his supremacy in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Paris Meeting, counting for the Diamond League, this Saturday, August 28.
According to the daily Assabah, the Moroccan Olympic champion hopes to win the 3,000m steeplechase at the Paris Meeting. A challenge for Soufiane El Bakkali, as Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto will want to do everything to erase the fiasco suffered in Tokyo by his compatriots.
The Paris meeting is a mandatory step for the Olympic champion if he wants to secure a place at the Zurich Grand Meeting on September 8 and 9. Before Tokyo, the Moroccan was in Rome where he put in a very good performance (best time of the year).
