Olympic Champion El Bakkali Seeks Diamond League Victory in Lausanne Steeplechase
Moroccan athlete Soufiane El Bakkali is currently in Switzerland in preparation for his participation this Friday, August 26, in the Lausanne meeting.
The world champion in the 3,000m steeplechase in Eugene, United States, in July, is giving himself a new chance to definitively establish his dominance over Ethiopian Lamecha Girma and Kenyan Emmanuel Korir. And it will be on Friday at the Diamond League meeting, which will be held in Lausanne. Soufiane El Bakkali has set himself the goal of winning a gold medal in this competition.
Since the last Tokyo Olympics, El Bakkali has been accumulating victories. Recently, he even won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Mohammed VI meeting in Rabat, setting a new record of 7 minutes 58 seconds 28/100. A performance that confirms the supremacy and power of the athlete from Fez.
