Moroccan Steeplechase Star El Bakkali Nominated for World Athlete of the Year

After accumulating distinctions throughout the year, Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali has just been nominated for the 2022 Male Athlete of the Year award.
The announcement was made on the World Athletics website. Many reasons justify Soufiane El Bakkali’s presence on this list composed of the ten most deserving athletes.
World champion in the 3,000m steeplechase, winner of the Diamond League, El Bakkali has imposed his dominance in many competitions this year, like his extraordinary performance at the Mohammed VI International Meeting (7min 58sec 28/100th).
According to World Athletics, this week marks the opening of the vote for the election of the best athletes of this year. The list of nominees is selected by an international panel comprising athletics experts and representing the six continental zones of World Athletics, the Federation says.
