Olympic Champion Soufiane El Bakkali Triumphs in Zagreb 2000m Steeplechase

Moroccan Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali continues to accumulate victories. On Sunday in Zagreb, he won the 2,000m steeplechase event as part of the "World Athletics Continental Tour Gold".
After winning the 3000m steeplechase final of the Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland, the Moroccan athlete Soufiane El Bakkali won on Sunday in Zagreb, in the 2,000m steeplechase event counting towards the "World Athletics Continental Tour Gold". The world champion crossed the finish line first with a time of 5 minutes 14 seconds 06/100ths, ahead of Italian Leonardo Feletto (5:23.15).
The third place went to the Briton William Battershill (5:26.91). The Zagreb Meeting, also called the "Boris Hanžeković Memorial", is an international athletics competition that takes place once a year in Zagreb since 1951. It is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour, formerly called the IAAF World Challenge.
