Moroccan athlete Soufiane El Bakkali closes the season with a very nice victory by winning the 3000m steeplechase final in Zurich
It was in 8:07.67 that the Moroccan Olympic champion won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Zurich (Switzerland) meeting, counting for the Diamond League. He has once again confirmed his hegemony over the event, beating the Ethiopian Getnet Wale (8:08.56) and the Kenyan Abraham Kibiwot (8:08.61).
The Moroccan athlete had already won the 3,000m steeplechase event on August 26 at the Lausanne (Switzerland) meeting, also counting for the Diamond League.
In July in Eugene, United States, he won the gold medal, not to mention his victory a month earlier at the Mohammed VI International Meeting in Rabat. He had set the world’s best performance of the year with a time of 7:58.28.
