Northern Morocco Launches "Rendez-vous au Nord" Campaign to Boost Domestic Tourism

Tourism professionals in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region met on Tuesday to develop a program to revive domestic tourism, which will be operational as soon as the lockdown is lifted.
In order to promote domestic tourism, a cooperation agreement, under the "Rendez-vous au Nord" label, was signed by the various operators in the tourism sector in the region, including hoteliers, travel agents and car rental agencies.
The group has committed to offering travel packages adapted to the local tourism market, with affordable rates for domestic tourists, calling on the latter to massively respond to the campaign.
Sector professionals say they are aware of the extent of the damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and, based on the principle of "developing national solidarity", promise vacationers attractive tourist packages as soon as the lockdown is lifted.
In order to avoid a rebound effect of Covid-19, the local authorities of Tangier have issued a prefectural decree prohibiting any form of gathering or vacation by the sea, after deconfinement.
