North Morocco Plans Two New Industrial and Craft Zones for $22 Million

The Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima regional council is preparing to create two new mixed activity zones. They are intended to accommodate industrial and craft activities.

The prefectures of Ouezzane and Fahs Anjra will host these two zones, according to the decision of the regional council. They should combine these two activities in a suitable space outside the urban perimeter. These are carpentry or metalwork activities that are installed a little everywhere in the peripheral neighborhoods and even in certain points of the city centers of the region.

With a total cost of 222 million DH, this project has planned an investment budget of 132 million DH for the Fahs Anjra zone and 90 million DH for Ouezzane. According to l’Economiste, these activity zones will be built on more than 30,000 m2 of lots of different sizes ranging from 60 to 1000 m2. The project owner of this project is the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the Northern Provinces (APDN).

Thanks to these zones, SMEs and craftsmen will be able to benefit from exploitable land in the face of the saturation of available areas. They should be available as early as 2022 and will help contain the pressure on the peripheral neighborhoods with workspaces adapted to future entrepreneurs. In the Fahs Anjra zone, entrepreneurs will be able to benefit from the proximity of the Renault plant and the Tanger Automobile City, activity generators that will boost the zone by encouraging subcontracting.
