Nationwide Manhunt for Fake Healer Accused of Raping Blind Woman in Morocco

The Royal Gendarmerie has issued a nationwide search warrant against a charlatan, for breach of trust and the rape of a 59-year-old visually impaired woman in Tétouan.
The charlatan is also a sexagenarian who claimed to cure certain serious illnesses solely with the "baraka" (blessing) that his ancestors had bequeathed to him. But it was all smoke and mirrors. He uses it to swindle and abuse those who come to him in search of healing. The visually impaired sexagenarian he raped lived alone in a mountainous area of the Bni Saïd commune, reports the daily Al Akhbar.
Before committing his crime, he first offered the woman some clothes and fruit, before grabbing her and raping her without any compassion for her condition. According to the newspaper, the violence of the act caused serious trauma to the victim. The woman’s relatives alerted the authorities who, after an investigation, issued a search warrant. The charlatan is currently untraceable and could be hiding in the surrounding douars (rural villages).
The daily Al Akhbar specifies that the accused is no stranger to this. He has raped many women and the list of people he has swindled appears to be quite long.
