Nabila Mounib Wins Parliamentary Seat in Morocco’s Casablanca-Settat Region
Nabila Mounib, Secretary General of the United Socialist Party (PSU), registered on the party’s regional list in Casablanca, won a seat on Wednesday, following the legislative elections.
According to preliminary data, Nabila Mounib is taking the first parliamentary seat in the Casablanca-Settat region.
Even before the elections, Nabila Mounib had explained that within the FGD, "the concerns were not the same, and not all members gave the same interest to the project of the unified left front". This, according to her, led to the PSU’s exit from the Federation.
She also stressed that there was a leadership war that could break out at any time. "There are also certain left-wing leaders who have wanted to appropriate the project without putting in the necessary efforts, and have even gone so far as to hinder the action of the PSU," she had also argued.
