Moroccan MPs Denied Parliament Entry Over Vaccine Pass Dispute

Deputies Nabila Mounib and Fatima Zohra Tamni of the PSU and the AFG were unable to access parliament on Monday evening to participate in the plenary session devoted to oral questions. Nabila Mounib, who is one of the signatories of a petition calling on the government to review the mandatory nature of the vaccine pass, had warned that she would not present her pass at the entrance to parliament.
The video of the ban on the two deputies from entering parliament is circulating and shows that the government is determined to go all the way with its decision to impose the vaccine pass. "The fact of getting vaccinated or not remains a choice. We cannot force Moroccans to get vaccinated with a decision. Today, I was prevented from entering parliament even though I am an elected official [...] And as you know, several countries that have adopted the health pass allow citizens to use a negative PCR test in replacement," deplored Nabila Mounib.
In an information note to his colleagues, the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, had stated that the health pass is mandatory for deputies. That the decision remains a public health issue and should not take into account political divisions.
