Tuesday 22 October 2019, by
The laying of the first stone for the construction of the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Taounate was effective on Sunday, October 20, in the commune of Mazraoua by the supervising Minister, Saïd Amzazi. This new Faculty, which is part of the University Sidi Mohammed Benabdellah of Fez (USMBA), will cost around 100 million dirhams.
This temple of knowledge will be built on an area of more than 54 hectares, of which nearly 13,000 m2 are covered. According to Huffpost, the 100 million dirhams will be covered by the supervisory department to the tune of 69 million dirhams and by the Meknès region, for a contribution of 31 million dirhams.
According to the same source, this decision to open this faculty was often driven by the desire to bring university services closer to the students of Taounate, whose number exceeds 11,600 people.
For the same media, this project takes into account the construction of 4 amphitheaters with a capacity of 1,400 seats, 14 classrooms reserved for theoretical courses (1,400 students), 10 for orientation courses (600), 12 language rooms (720), 10 multimedia rooms, a conference room, a library, two sports fields, as well as an administrative block and spaces for students.
Thanks to the construction of this establishment, the Government will bring to 9 the number of faculties under the University Sidi Mohammed Benabdellah of Fez, which also includes 5 higher schools.
In total, five thousand students are expected in several specialties. For the Minister, this establishment aims to facilitate access to the higher education system and scientific research in the province.
