Mother Fights for Justice in Spain After 9-Year-Old Daughter's Alleged Sexual Assault

Bouchra Aoram, a Moroccan whose 9-year-old daughter allegedly suffered sexual abuse from her stepfather in August 2020, is desperate. Despite the complaints filed with the Court of First Instance in Algeciras, she has still not obtained justice for this heinous crime committed against her daughter.

Bouchra Aomran filed a complaint in August last year against her daughter’s stepfather who allegedly sexually assaulted her 9-year-old. Since then, the Court of First Instance in Algeciras has been slow to deliver its verdict. Meanwhile, the victim continues to suffer the consequences of this act. "My daughter is very afraid when she goes out. At night, she is terrified and has nightmares," confides the 30-year-old woman to Diario Area.

Alone and without any family in Algeciras, Bouchra is desperately awaiting the opening of the trial for the rape of her daughter. She filed a complaint for sexual abuse against her stepfather on August 15, 2020, but it was almost a year later, precisely on July 6, 2021, that the judge requested that she undergo a clinical examination. "Fourteen months have passed without my daughter receiving any treatment and the medical report has not been transmitted to the court either," she laments.

Bouchra no longer knows which way to turn with her daughter, the victim on the one hand, and her husband, the rapist on the other. "This man mistreated her while I was taking care of his son, who has cancer, at the hospital. My daughter is suffering and this aggressor is free. Yes, he has a restraining order, but he is living a normal life while he should be in prison," she denounces.

"I don’t understand why the trial is taking so long and why this man is still free. I won’t stop until justice is done," she insists. The stepfather in question had already been convicted of other sexual abuse on a minor, according to the police report.
