Spanish Woman Rescued After Family Kidnapping Over Moroccan Boyfriend

A Spanish girl, kidnapped by her family to prevent her from seeing her Moroccan boyfriend, was freed by the police, alerted by the latter after the victim informed him of her situation.
The girl’s family kidnapped her and chained her to a bed in the house to prevent her from continuing to see her Moroccan boyfriend. The victim managed to inform her boyfriend of her situation by sending him a message via her mobile phone. "Call the police, I’m at my grandmother’s," she wrote to him. The young man relayed this SOS to the department in charge of thefts and kidnappings at the Aragon police headquarters, which rushed to the scene to free the young woman, reports La Opinion de Malaga.

The girlfriend’s boyfriend told the police that the girl’s parents did not approve of their relationship because "he is of Moroccan origin and a practicing Muslim while she is a Gypsy". The young man claims that the family had planned their act. "An aunt of the young woman invited us to dinner. We went there a little before the scheduled time and she asked us to go down to the bar to have a drink while waiting. Two other uncles accompanied by their wives were also present," he explains. That’s when they threatened him. "We’re going to kill you and your parents as long as you don’t leave our daughter," they allegedly told him. Meanwhile, the women would have grabbed the victim by the arms, taken her out of the bar and put her in a car.

The young man confides that the parents are not at their first attempt and that he has already fled with their daughter twice. "According to the Gypsy rite, once the girl has run away with her boyfriend, they are obliged to get married. But the father wants us to break up," he said.
Four people, relatives of the victim, were arrested. They were made available to the investigating judge in Saragossa, who ordered their provisional release with a restrictive order.
