Mother Drowns Trying to Rescue Son from Moroccan River

A mother tragically died on Saturday, May 2nd last in the Ouezzane region, while trying to pull her son out of one of the steep rivers in the commune of Beni Guella.
While the victim was quietly doing laundry on the riverbank, her son took the opportunity to wade for a few minutes near the shore.
Noticing that he was having trouble coming back to her, the mother rushed to his rescue, although she could not swim. Then suddenly the tragedy. Feeling her strength weakening, the woman, whose age was not revealed, finally succumbed to the current.
As for the child, he was luckier. He was pulled out of the water by a man who had witnessed the scene. He was taken to the hospital and an investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the mother’s death.
