Moroccan Mother Arrested for Infanticide of 3-Day-Old Baby Near Marrakech

A chilling incident occurred on Friday in the small mountain town of Amezmiz, 55 kilometers from Marrakech. According to the website Rue20, a female baby, barely 3 days old, was strangled by her mother.

The reasons that led this mother to end the life of her child are still unknown, but according to relatives and the initial elements of the gendarmerie investigation, she had been suffering from serious psychological disorders for several months.

Meanwhile, she has been taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office. As for the infant’s remains, they were transferred to the hospital morgue.
