Stepmother Arrested in Marrakech for Double Homicide of Minor Children
A woman in her fifties was arrested on Sunday, August 2, for her alleged involvement in the premeditated double homicide of her two stepchildren.
On Sunday morning, the prefectural service of the judicial police of Marrakech opened a preliminary investigation, following the death of two minor children, aged 12 and 14, killed by their stepmother at the family home in the Kasbah neighborhood.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security stressed that the 12-year-old boy was strangled, while his sister was stabbed with a bladed weapon. The motives behind this criminal act are still unknown.
The accused was taken into custody at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, pending the results of the autopsy and the investigation intended to elucidate the circumstances of the homicide.
