7-Year-Old’s Viral Video Leads to Stepmother’s Arrest for Child Abuse in Fez

A 25-year-old woman was arrested this week in Fès for endangering the health of her stepdaughter. In a video, the child claims to have been a victim of intentional violence and bodily burns.
The video of the 7-year-old child, released on Tuesday, caused a strong emotion on social networks. The case was entrusted to the cell for the care of child victims of violence.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the stepmother, a 25-year-old woman, had left the family home in the suburbs of Fez, after the video was posted on social networks.
The suspect was taken into custody and made available to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, pending the determination of the respective responsibilities and the contours of the case.
