Morocco Mother Faces Trial for Alleged Child Torture Captured on Video

The mother accused of torturing her daughter over a hygiene issue will soon be informed of her fate. The public prosecutor near the Larache Tribunal has decided to prosecute her while at liberty.
The first hearing of this highly anticipated trial by child rights organizations is scheduled for next week. Arrested by the video of this torture, widely shared on social media, the Tétouan public prosecutor’s office decided to open an investigation into this case already handled by the Larache police.
Six months ago, they had arrested the mother as soon as the video was first published. They had also heard all the members of the victim’s family, including the father, who appeared in the video, the young brother, the author of the video, and the accused.
In this video broadcast a second time, we can see the mother beating her ten-year-old daughter until she burns her nose with a fork heated to the max on the fire. This video outraged Internet users who demanded that the accused be punished.
