Moroccan Father Suspected in Toddler’s Death, Suicide Attempt in Germany

A Moroccan national is suspected of attempted homicide on his 3-year-old son. The man is in a coma after falling from the window of his home in Lahnstein, Germany.
The body of the child, lying lifeless in the midst of the debris caused by the fire, was discovered early this week by civil protection elements. His father had also lost consciousness, trying to commit suicide.
For the local police, who favor the hypothesis of homicide, the 33-year-old Moroccan individual would have tried to take his own life by jumping out the window, after killing his son and setting the house on fire.
The indictment was confirmed by the autopsy results, which revealed that the child died from physical violence. The investigation is ongoing, pending the determination of the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
